Flycatcher Films is fronted by Rob Sullivan
and Amber Delahooke - a multiskilling partnership bridging
all production roles. Keeping overheads to a minimum allows
Flycatcher to ensure that all the money is spent on the
screen enabling production of memorable films with extremely
high production values.
Rob started working as a news assistant at
Channel One Cable Television. Within four months he was
promoted to Videojournalist and made a 30 min documentary
in New York about a London woman on trial for murdering
her baby. After two years producing, shooting, presenting
and editing an average of two to three news pieces a day,
he trained a new team of VJ's in Bristol, and was then approached
by Barraclough Carey Productions to work on the new Channel
5. Rob produced shot and edited the opening series of First
on Five's for ITN's 5 News. He also originated, won the
contract and worked as Series Editor on a current-affairs
series for Channel 5 teenagers called "Inside Out".
He then made "Cry Murder", an hour long documentary
about the controversial use of police press appeals in murder
inquiries.
Rob then joined Two Hand Productions, a specialist
multi-skilling company, where he produced, filmed and edited
EcoWarriors, a 26 part series of 10 minute wildlife/environment
programmes for teenagers from around the world. He won the
commission to set up and run Channel 5's Teen Website and
also produced, filmed and edited a half-hour documentary
about pirate radio for the Discovery Channel. Rob then produced,
filmed and edited 13 x half-hour children's educational
wildlife series for Channel 5 called "Tiger Tiger".
Rob then moved to Wales, where he joined the
BBC NHU's Really Wild Show as director and editor. He also
produced and directed a one hour documentary special for
Channel 5/Tigress productions, The Natural History of Christmas,
followed by Wildlife Uncovered, a six part series about
British Wildlife for Channel 5.
With the creation of Flycatcher Films, Rob
developed his skills at producing high quality productions
on low budgets, producing an award winning documentary for
TVE/BBC World, Aliens from Planet Earth.
They then beat off tough opposition to win
the majority share of a contract for a major series of half-hour
documentaries about global water issues for TVE/BBC World.
Since then Flycatcher Films has produced over twenty different documentaries on environmental and development issues, as well as several short films for different UN agencies and charities.
Rob has ten years experience shooting on all Beta and DV formats, and 8 years experience editing on Avid.

After gaining a first class Masters degree
in Anthropology Amber worked as the main researcher on a
major Research Council study working with vulnerable children.
She has broken new ground in anthropology with innovative
techniques of working with children, using tape-recorders
and cameras. She has published a series of papers in academic
journals from her work and has lectured to master's students
and at conferences.
Working abroad as a volunteer Amber became
interested in film through making public education films
for several charities around the world. These include Nuxalk
Nation Canada (indigenous land rights); Philippine Reef
and Rainforest Foundation (Community work and Conservation);
Birdlife Seychelles; Rainforest Concern Ecuador; World Parrot
Trust. She also raised funds for and installed a nest camera
system for research purposes in Mauritius, and designed
and put together a Visitor's Education Centre for locals
and tourists.
Recently her proposals have won contracts for
Flycatcher with TVE/BBC World and she has acted as production
manager, researcher and script writer for the TVE/BBC World
Productions.
Since 2003 the Flycatcher nest has doubled: Amber has produced two new chicks - Esme and Freddy - and now plays a consulting role in the business whilst dealing with our two most demanding productions.
